Rated 5 out of 5 by Phases123 Paradise in a unique setting
We were in this hacienda for 3 nights, and they have been one of the more memorable stays in my many years as a SPG lifetime platinum guest. A unique setting in a fairly remote part of the Yucatan peninsula, hiding away in tropical jungle, with great comfort. Very nice staff that really seeks opportunities to please you. Excellent food. An absolute must to visit to stay or dine when you are near Merida.

Stayed at the Hacienda for two nights with my spouse and had a great experience in this very private hacienda. Here are a couple comments from my experience:
-location is a bit more secluded than expected but it's part of the hacienda experience. I didn't have any issue finding the hacienda using Google maps. If you want to explore the area, you'll need to drive 30-40 min to get to Merida or Izamal. The local villages around the hacienda are pretty quiet and only cater to the locals. If you want to have a sit down meal you will need to drive to Merida or Izamal.
-rooms: was upgraded to junior suite for my platinum status. The room was authentic and was well equipped with modern amenities - minibar, TV, two air con units. The bed was really comfortable and the linens were top quality. As mentioned in other reviews, there are insects in the room from all the gaps and cracks around the building. Insect repellent was provided. I personally didn't have a lot of issue with the bugs, but my spouse preferred that I kill off as many as possible.
-food: ate at the restaurant for two dinners. The regional dishes were pretty tasty and the service was prompt. The appetizer portions are pretty big and can serve as a full meal.
-service: the hotel only has 15 rooms and when we were there only 4-5 rooms were occupied. expect a pretty secluded experience where you'll see more hotel staff than guests. Checkin/out experience and housekeeping were all top notch.

This little gem has got to be the biggest treasure in Mexico. Getting there is half the fun, then once there, you are treated like royalty, as if you were the only ones there. For such a small place San Jose delivers the largest pleasures. Simply perfection.

As soon as you drive down the winding entrance to Hacienda San Jose, you feel as if you are taking break from life. It is the most tranquil, restful hotel imaginable. Miles from the nearest large town, the night sky is crystal clear and the only sounds you hear are of nature and the calm staff going quietly about their business.
The hacienda has a rustic charm, and is beautiful with its aged imperfections juxtaposed with the modern, impeccably maintained rooms.
Jonna and her staff are unassumingly attentive and kind, and no trouble is spared in ensuring their guests have a great stay.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pelizhue Faltan más áreas de esparcimiento
